You want a fairly snug fit, but not overly tight---it has to be able to slide smoothly. Washer welded to end is the bearing surface --- need to replace it after about 10 or 15 sets of bungees if you don't have the bearing shown in other pictures as the nut will eat it up...Jul 15, 2010
