wing_bow.jpgwing bows2 viewsI made the wing bows out of laminated Douglas fir. 1/8" strips are laminated into 3/4 X 3/4 bows. I used a rounding bit in a router to shape the bow into a "D" profile. the trailing edge is then tapered to tie into the wing trailing edge. Finish countour is done with a sander. The wing bow is tied into the spars with 1/4" wood dowels. The two upper wing bows have nav light mounting blocks built into them for the nav light brackets.Jul 02, 2009
